A WOMAN from Bolton has received glowing praise from the Government for her pioneering work in setting up the NHS website.
Judy Aldred, originally from Deane, but who now lives in Birmingham, was commended by the Prime Minister's Health Advisor Simon Stevens for her role in establishing the NHS website.
The 33-year-old has been responsible for the development and success of the website since its inception three years ago.
The NHS website offers people a variety of useful information, which includes a comprehensive list of every dentist, GP, opticians and pharmacies, through to waiting times and star ratings for every hospital in the country.
And the ex-Deane School pupil said she was delighted that the work of her team had been recognised by the Government.
She said: "It's fantastic to know that we're making a difference to people's lives and that our work has been recognised by Tony Blair and the Government.
"Simon Stevens said that the new NHS website was a superb piece of work, and he told us that Tony Blair has also seen the website, and he was very impressed."
The NHS website address is www.nhs.uk
