THE shoe was on the other foot in February, 1974, for the stewardesses who normally made life comfortable for members of Bolton's social and political clubs.
The event was the annual dance of the Bolton and District Stewardesses Association held at Deane Conservative Club. Waiting on the women who normally did the waiting on were Deane club steward, Mr Cliff Greenhalgh, left, and secretary Mr Jack Wrench.
Pouring out the sherry was the brewery area representative Mr Frank Warburton. The stewardesses were, from left, front row: Mrs Audrey Dooley, Mrs Margaret Brereton, Mrs Jessie Greenhalgh. Back: Mrs Minnie Jones, Mrs Joan Hankinson, Mrs Brenda Russell, Mrs Margaret Barrett and Mrs Jessie Ashton
