UNLUCKY Shakers ace Matt Barrass is praying his injury jinx has not returned to haunt him again.
The defender had to be helped off the training ground on Monday after a freak accident left him with a damaged left knee.
Barrass has been plagued with problems in both knees during his short career culminating in two lengthy spells out of first team action.
Shakers physio Lee Nobes said: "We have had the knee scanned and, encouragingly, it didn't show up any damage.
"But the scans aren't always 100 per cent reliable and we will arrange for him to see a specialist in Shrewsbury on Monday who will probably send a keyhole camera into his knee.
"It was such an innocuous training accident that caused it."
" A ball went over his head and as he tried to turn on the heavy pitch he heard something click then felt the pain."
Nobes will continue to monitor Barrass and Shakers boss Andy Preece dedicated Tuesday night's win at Swansea to the player.
"I'm so pleased we won on Tuesday because that one was for Matty," he declared.
"We just don't know how bad the injury is at the moment so we can only hope it isn't as serious.
"It was a big blow to all the players and you could see from the looks on their faces in training that they were gutted for the lad.
"If anyone deserves any luck Matty does, he's worked so hard to get back to full fitness in the past."
