RECENTLY I rang the police to report a neighbour who has three cars, two of which are not taxed, but are parked on a public road and are regularly driven.
They informed me that they don't have the powers to deal with this, but would pass the details on to DVLA. I then rang the council who also informed me that there is nothing they can do about it either.
It seems DVLA are relying on people's honesty to tax their vehicles, and who's to know if you fill in the SORN that your car is "off road"?
There seems to be no deterrent for not taxing your vehicle any more. Can this be right? I find it unbelievable.
