I AM sad to see the firefighters are once again having to strike for a fair and just wage.
I want to say I support them 100 per cent in their struggle.
However, I am horrified at the attitude of MP David Crausby. From his comment in Monday's Bolton Evening News, he is more interested in war than the safety of his own constituents.
Surely, Mr Crausby, as an expert in defence issues, our firefighters are members of civilian defence and, as such, should be high on your list of priorities, not scorned by you in favour of sending our fighting forces to wage an unjust war on innocent men, women and children in Iraq.
If the relatively few men and women service personnel required to run the pitifully few Green Goddesses will be missed to such an extent that it "could seriously harm the war effort in Iraq", then God help us all.
