JOSEPH Whittle's "Furniture Remover and Storer" business was based at 112, Halliwell Road, Bolton, and when this photograph was taken, presumably near the beginning of the 1900s, the telephone number was Bolton 37y.
The firm's motto was "Keep Moving", and an advertisement stated: "J.W. has conducted Removals to and from London, Belfast, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Wolverhampton, Ballyclare, Chester, Harrogate, Isle of Man, Newcastle, Malvern, Carrick-on-Shannon, Buxton, Leeds, Birmingham, Sheffield, Blackpool, Southport, Morecambe, Liverpool, etc., etc."
I only hope that the three horses shown were not involved in them all . . .
