A CEREMONIAL funeral was due to be held today for a long serving Bolton police officer.
Det Con Lesley Theresa Garratt, from Barrow Bridge, died last week at the age of 40 from cancer. She was a police officer in Bolton for more than 14 years and worked in the CID department at Bolton Police Station.
She had been ill for a long time and had only recently returned to work,
A full ceremonial funeral was held at St Thomas of Canterbury, in Eastbourne Grove, Heaton, at 10am.
Det Con Garratt leaves a husband and five-year-old son.
Det Insp Andy Aston, of Bolton CID, said: "She will be sadly missed. She was a friend and a colleague."
