MEMBERS of Northern League side Chorley have voted overwhelmingly against a proposal to relocate to a site near Euxton.
At a packed and lively meeting at Windsor Park, members threw out a proposal by the committee to pursue preliminary negotiations to relocate.
Outline talks had been held with a company headed by ex-Lancashire star Peter Lever, which had reportedly overseen a successful move to a new ground by Unsworth CC.
Chorley's proposed switch was aimed at clearing increasing debts and improving both playing and social facilities but members voted by 128 to just 16 to explore other avenues of attracting substantial income while staying at their long-held Windsor Park base.
