BOLTON Octagon once again plays host to a new play from one of the country's leading comedy writers, John Godber.

The Hull Truck Theatre Company is in town from January 20 to 25, 7.30pm, with an outrageous new play, Reunion.

The work, written and directed by Godber, plays on the nation's obsession with "reality" television shows, encompassing the best -- and worst -- of TV stalwarts such as Blind Date, Jerry Springer and Big Brother.

Jack Wesley is a novelist and part-time lecturer who becomes an unsuspecting contestant on a radical new game show which reunites old pals, and enemies, from college days.

During the course of the game Jack becomes reacquainted with an array of weird and wonderful characters from his past, including some he would rather forget.

Godber, whose work includes old favourites such as Bouncers, has been the artistic director of Hull Truck since 1984, and the five-strong cast consists of regulars Gordon Kane, Zach Lee and Fiona Wass, plus Gillian Jephcott and Kiki Kendrick.
