IT is dirty work, but somebody has to do it and Liz Eddleston is on a clean up mission.

The 25-year-old's job is to ensure the country's streets, parks and open spaces are kept free of rubbish. But rather than get her hands dirty the Horwich woman's role is to raise enough money to get others to do it.

She works as the partnership development manager for the independent environmental charity, ENCAMS, which runs the Keep Britain Tidy campaign.

The former Turton High School pupil said: "As an independent charity that runs Keep Britain Tidy, the Blue Flag for clean beaches and Eco-schools, naturally we have partnerships with many high profile organisations," said Liz.

"But money doesn't grow on trees and we're always on the look out for new backers as well as building better relationships with the partners we already have."
