DEAN Crombie had never scored for Wanderers before this Wembley final, but the third goal in the demolition of Torquay United was worth waiting for.
Crombie raced almost the entire length of the sapping Wembley pitch as he started and finished a move which set Wanderers on their way to victory. He eventually chipped the ball over the advancing Gulls 'keeper Allen.
Boss Phil Neal said: "It was a magnificent effort from Dean."
