WANDERERS fans had not seen their team beat Manchester United since the 1970s, but Kevin Nolan put them on the way to victory with this 35th minute equaliser.
Bruno N'Gotty had crossed to the head of Michael Ricketts and the striker nodded down into the path of the goalscoring midfielder.
Nolan let fly with a sensational volley from well outside of the area and past Fabien Barthez.
It was extra special for the then 19-year-old who grew up as a Liverpool fan. He said: "I couldn't have dremed it better. I just hit and to see it fly in the back of the net was unreal."
