YOURI Djorkaeff today warned all relegation rivals that Wanderers have what it takes to beat relegation.

The French World Cup winner made another glorious memory for Bolton fans on Saturday with a spectacular overhead kick to grab a priceless point at Charlton.

"It was the best goal I have ever scored along with another nice one I got in Italy,"he said.

"But I am not at Bolton for personal success but to help the team achieve something and that goal could be very important in building confidence for the battle ahead."

It is a struggle the 34-year-old is convinced Wanderers are willing and able to win.

"At Bolton we know what fighting is all about and we fight very well,"he declared.

"We know what you need to do to stay up. We know how to do it, we have players who are capable of doing it and we have the spirit to fight in every game.

"When you are conceding last minute goals like we were in the first half of the season it is very easy to think you have no chance of staying up but that does not happen with us.

"We never give in and we never say die and we are better prepared for the fight this season than last.

"It is a battle to not be relegated and every game will be like this where you have to run and fight for every ball.

"I am not afraid of the battle or about the thought of relegation because if you are afraid when you play we will go out of the Premiership."

Meanwhile, Sam Allardyce is on the brink of a breakthrough in his search for a new player.

He is closing in on his one, possibly two targets if the budget will stretch, and could have him installed in the next few days.

He said: "I have one or two irons in the fire and hopefully the next week will bring a new player into the squad.

"We are becoming more difficult to beat but we have to start putting the ball in the back of the net and I have to get somebody in to do it."
