A BOLTON MEP for the region is calling for euthanasia to be legalised in the UK.
Chris Davies made the comments following the death of terminally ill Reginald Crew from Liverpool, who was helped to die in Switzerland on Monday.
The Liberal Democrat MEP for the North West said Mr Crew, who suffered from motor neurone disease, should have been allowed the right to die with dignity in his own country.
Mr Crew, aged 74, travelled to the "assisted suicide" clinic in Zurich, where he died after drinking barbiturates, with his wife and daughter by his side.
