TOWN centre staff are being given the chance to work out in style using the new multi-million pound facilities at Bolton Lads' and Girls' Club.

Officials have now decided to throw open their doors at lunchtime, but during school term it will be adults who will benefit.

The Spa Road health and fitness gym offers a choice of 40 exercise stations, an astro-turf pitch and boxing ring, plus a fully qualified coach, for £3.

James Emmett, facilities marketing officer, said: "Our club is one of the biggest of its kind in the country and projects like this provide a great opportunity for everyone in Bolton."

The idea is to provide much-needed cash for the charity so that it can continue to provide youth services for years to come.

Adults are asked to pay to use the facilities which are often lying unused during term time when children are in lessons.

The new club opened last year and its membership has soared since its massive refurbishment.

A spokesman for Bolton's Healthy Living Initiative said: "The club is a member of Bolton's Healthy Living Project and we fully support this new initiative.

"It is especially a great opportunity for people who would not normally consider using such provision. It is another positive move for the people of Bolton."
