TWO years' work is coming to fruition for members of the revived Bolton Little Theatre Youth Theatre group.
Young members, together with a selection of older Little Theatre members, are set to perform in Willy Russell's comedy, Our Day Out, from January 18 to 25.
The present youth group has been working together for a couple of years and now has the chance to show off members' skills in a major play on the theatre's main stage.
The play is being co-directed by Nick Haworth and Amy Liptrott, both of whom were instrumental in re-forming the Little Theatre's youth group.
They had been enthusiastic members during their teens and, returning to Bolton post-university, wanted to contribute in their turn.
Last season the group showcased members' talents to senior theatre members, and this season will give many of the younger performers their first experience of performing on the main stage.
Willy Russell's comedy was written in the 1970s and is set in inner city Liverpool. It is described as "a thought-provoking stab at education, social welfare and day trips".
Amy and Nick, together with support from more senior theatre members, Mark Reid and Harold Smith, have risen to the challenge and audiences are invited to join in the fun and tears which are such a trademark of Willy Russell's bittersweet comedies.
Tickets are from the theatre box office on 01204 524469 between 6pm and 8pm, and from the Albert Halls ticket office on 334400.
