SCOUTS looking to raise for £30,000 for work to be completed on their hut are delighted after receiving their first big donation.
Chorley Masons presented the 1st Euxton Scout group with a cheque for £1,000 to help with the final building and preparation work needed for their new hut.
Scout leader Peter Hodson said: "This donation is fantastic and has really given us a great start to the fundraising.
"We have got to raise approximately £30,000 which will go towards installing electric, water supplies, heating and then various equipment.
"As soon as we get the basic amenities in the new hut like lighting, we can start appealing to local businesses to help out by donating and contributing what they can."
The campaign to rebuild the hut started two years ago when the old hut was demolished by the council who needed the land for a new housing estate.
