A RARE programme from Wanderers' 1929 FA Cup Final triumph over Portsmouth is available for auction at Sotheby's on February 18

The victory completed a hat-trick of 1920s cup wins for Wanderers.

Although valued at £500, this rare lot is expected to make more than predicted.

Also up for auction is a turn of the century FA Cup Final programme, when Bury FC won the trophy 6-0, which could fetch £5,000 when it goes for auction.

Experts at Sotheby's expect the collectors' item to attract much attention when it goes under the hammer next month.

It is believed to be one of the most valuable Bury programmes ever.

Although it is expected to fetch £2,000, a spokesman at the famous London-based auction house said it could raise much more.

Graham Budd, a sporting memorabilia specialist at Sotheby's, said: "In the past, programmes from this period have made up to £5,000. I have never seen this programme before, and although you can collect them relatively cheaply, there is always a top end of the market, which this fits into.

"I would have quoted more but it has been trimmed down over the years and I was conscious of this.

"In the past however, programmes from this period have made up to £5,000."

The 1903 Final against Derby County at The Crystal Palace, in London was a momentous triumph for the Shakers.

They were only the second club to win the competition without conceding a goal.

Commenting on the Wanderers programme, Mr Budd said: "This is a slightly more modern lot and as such, the value is lower than the Bury programme.

"It is nonetheless a rare item.

"I had never seen it before and again I would not be suprised if it fetched more than I have quoted."
