A PUB could be the toast of the town if it scoops a hat-trick of awards. David and Gill Heyes, who have run the Garsdale Hotel, in Woodhill Road, Bury, since 2000, are up for three top industry awards.
On Wednesday (Jan 29) they will travel to London to find out if they've won the coveted Morning Advertiser industry award for business development pub of the year. The Garsdale is in the last two nationally.
This week it was announced that the Garsdale was chosen as the regional winners of the British Institute of Inkeeping's Licensee of the Year award. The national winner will be chosen in London in March.
And the Garsdale is also in the finals of the Publican Awards, the overall winner of which will also be announced in March.
David (45), said: "This is an absolutely exciting time for us, Brandlesholme and Bury. We believe that no other Bury pub has ever been regional winners of Licensee of the Year."
After taking over the Garsdale, David and Gill embarked on a £50,000 refurbishment programme. They have also created a new front terrace and carried out car parking work.
