MICHAEL Ricketts' chances of landing a big money move to Spurs appeared to have receded today with the reported collapse of two of Glenn Hoddle's fund raising deals.

Tim Sherwood's proposed move to Division One leaders Portsmouth is off, according to the player's agent, Eric Hall, while representatives of misfit Ukrainian striker Sergei Rebrov say his transfer to Turkish club Fenerbahce has also been scuppered.

Spurs have already said they cannot meet Wanderers £6 million valuation of Ricketts but Hoddle is still trying to tempt Sam Allardyce to play ball on a player-plus-cash exchange with Gary Doherty and Chris Perry thought to be in the equation.

He is still under pressure, however, to cut his staff costs and the breakdown of the Sherwood and Rebrov deals will not have helped his case.
