WEDDING reception inquiries at a Bolton hotel have reached record levels -- and much of that is down to school teachers, according to its general manager.
Gerry McGee, the general manager at the Macdonald Last Drop Village Hotel, Bolton, said that teachers were booking their weddings in their droves during the school holidays.
Mr McGee said that the hotel had already received a staggering 200 wedding inquires since the beginning of the New Year, with the traditional months of March and September being overtaken by the summer months of July and August.
He added: "These numbers are well ahead of last yea. We have noticed many are from teachers who use the school holidays as an opportunity to get married and go away on honeymoon.
The hotel has seen a significant increase in civil weddings with couples choosing to tie the knot in the less formal surroundings.
