Puss in Boots, Farnworth Performing Arts Company, Astley Bridge Theatre Church, Runs until Saturday: JUST when you think the festive period is over, along comes another panto.
Not being familiar with Puss in Boots, I went along not knowing what really to expect, but was impressed and entertained by the Farnworth Performing Arts Company's performance.
The tale of good versus evil is set in Amsterdam and tells the story of a cobbler who casts a spell over a pair of boots which the town cat eventually pulls on and they become magic.
The human-like cat then sets to work helping his master, Max Miller, to woo the Princess of Holland, Princess Daffodil, which -- of course -- ends in a spectacular royal wedding.
The royal family -- Queen Tulip, played by Peter Haslam, and King Bulbo, played by Andrew Alderton -- stole the show and involved the audience by darting off stage into the crowd, and saying many a farcical: "He's behind you."
The addition of the essential baddies, Dr Frankinstein, played by Ian Hayes, and his side-kick Blackleather, played by Ian Jones, who were trying to turn all of Amsterdam into robots, completed the rather long tale.
