ALDER Hey Hospital in Liverpool is opening a new £2.7 million pathology unit -- one of the positive outcomes of the organ retention scandal.
The Trust is also celebrating being able to recruit two new pathologists, despite a national shortage.
Several left the speciality in the wake of the Alder Hey scandal and very few are in training.
The Redfern Report acknowledged that one of the underlying triggers for the scandal was understaffing.
