REPORTS suggest Spurs will offer £4 million plus either Steffen Iversen or Gary Doherty, although neither has the kind of recent goalscoring record that would interest Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce, desperate for a quality striker.
Doherty, who will turn 23-years-old on Friday, is a popular player amongst the White Hart Lane faithful and was seen as an excellent prospect before he broke his leg in 2001.
Iversen is less well thought of at Spurs, with Hoddle only picking him if desperately short of other attackers. The 26-year-old moved to the club for £2.5 million in 1996 from Rosenborg and since then has amassed a decent overall scoring record of 46 goals in 132 starts. But the Norwegian has bagged just one goal in 17 Premiership appearances this season.
