PEOPLE are being urged to take advantage of new funding which is available to help them make a difference in their own community.

The UnLtd Millennium Awards are made to help people with the ideas, vision and commitment to develop projects that can bring about real change in their neighbourhoods.

There are currently two levels of award, funded by the legacy left by the National Lottery Millennium Commission, ranging from £500 to £15,000.

Bury Metro's Executive Member for Community Services, Cllr Gill Campbell, said: "The awards are made to people aged over 16,, not organisations or groups, and your project must benefit yourself and people living in your locality." Anyone interested can get more information from the UnLtd website, www.unltd.org.uk and apply on-line. Those who don't have internet access, should go to any library in the borough and look at the site at a cost of 75p for 15 minutes, or free for people over 60.
