A POLICE special constable from Bury is set to receive a long-service award.
Special Constable Anthony Lupo, aged 31, will be presented with the Long Service Medal at an awards ceremony in Oldham on Thursday. Michael Todd, Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police, and Councillor Riaz Ahmad, the Mayor of Oldham, will be on hand to present the awards.
The Special Constabulary Long Service Medal was instituted by King George V in 1919 to mark the service rendered by members of the Special Constabulary
The medal is awarded to officers who have completed nine years of service without pay.
