A MOTORIST was cut free from the wreckage of his car after it collided with the side of a road bridge in Loxham Street, Moses Gate.
Fire crews used cutting equipment to release the 22-year-old from his Ford Fiesta at 11.30pm last night. It is thought the car went out of control as it rounded a bend before colliding with metal railings at the bridge's entrance.
Fire crews say the driver's side footwell was forced upwards, trapping his legs against the seat and the dash board. Firefighters cut off the door. The man, who has not been named, was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital with minor injuries to his arm and both shoulders. He also had minor cuts to his face and hands but was later released.
