AN NHS drug trial allowing pregnant women to smoke a "safe" cigarette strikes me as daft.
The makers of NicoBloc claim it blocks out 99 per cent of nicotine and tar, so mothers to be are being given it as an alternative.
Smoking in pregnancy can harm unborn children. If women continue to smoke they are being selfish and seriously risking their child's health. It's as simple as that.
