THE inspectors in Iraq have yet to find any evidence of "weapons of mass destruction".

This seems to enrage President Bush. He says "I am sick and tired of Saddam Hussein's antics", and adds "it is like seeing a bad film over again". He is eager for war. His only ally is Britain. In support, Blair, but not the people of Britain.

The message seems to be that Bush and Blair, even now, have some conclusive evidence of Saddam's WMD . Then why not pass this on to the Chief Inspector Mr Blix when he knows where to look. He could then report to the United Nations this vital information known only to the US and Britain at the present time.

The alternative, maybe the inspectors have still found nothing and report to the other permanent members of the UN, France, Russia and China their findings. Would then the USA and Britain defy the UN and invade Iraq? Or would they be prepared to talk with the UN the whole problem of Hussein and also the delicate and critical question of "oil" in the equation?
