MAY I bring, once again, to your attention the traffic on Crown Lane, Horwich.
We who live here are waiting for a disaster that's going to happen, caused by heavy goods vehicles creating a dangerous situation for all users. We have school children in Crown Lane, morning and evening, going to and from school while HGVs are going up and down at the same time.
Crown Lane was never built to take this amount of traffic. I would also like to point out that the road is in need of urgent repair. Every house appears to have a depression or hump on the road outside, thus causing havoc to the inhabitants.
The person or persons that decided to put a weight restriction on Mason Street and Vale Avenue did not consider the views of the residents of Crown Lane.
This problem will not go. Even the local haulage contractors have expressed their fears of using Crown Lane, and yet nothing seems to be done about it.
I must say a thank you to Martyn Cox for his letter to the Bolton Evening News on January 21. I wish our council would show as much interest in its residents.
A copy of this letter has been sent to Horwich Town Council, Mr T Bullock, of Bolton Council Highway and Planning, and to Bolton Council Environmental Health Department.
