DAYS were when people had to queue for most things in life, rather than now mainly just at the sales . . .
This photograph was taken in 1949, when rationing was still around, of course, and the caption in the paper read: "The first job after the holiday. Bolton housewives queueing today for the very necessary foodstuffs."
