BOBBIES are going on the beat as police aim to introduce a higher presence in problem areas of Chorley.
Two officers -- known as community-based managers -- have been assigned to the Eaves Lane and the Liptrott estate areas.
They aim to tackle crime by increasing the visible police presence and making themselves easily accessible to residents.
And they will be assisted by civilians working in four specially created 'police community support officer' posts in those areas and also Adlington and Clayton Brook.
Support officers will be on duty from around 8am until midnight every day.
