A MAN was robbed at knifepoint and ordered to hand over his £2,000 watch.

The victim, aged 45, who lives in Bolton, was walking towards his car, parked in Chorley New Road, Horwich, when he noticed it had been damaged.

Two men -- one armed with a knife -- approached and threatened him.

They punched him in the face before stealing a bracelet and his gold Cartier watch -- which had a blue face -- before running away along Chorley New Road.

The robbery happened near to the junction of Carlton Grove last Thursday, about 7.30pm.

The attackers were white and aged about 25. One was 6ft tall, of medium build, with shaved dark hair and was wearing a dark coloured hip length jacket.

The other man was 5ft 6in tall, of stocky build, with short dark hair and was dressed in a dark bomber-style jacket.

Police want to hear from anyone who was standing at one of two nearby bus stops at the time of the robbery -- as they may have seen the suspects running away.

A police spokesman said: "We would also like to hear from anyone who has recently been asked to buy a watch matching the description of one stolen."

Officers investigating the robbery can be contacted on 0161 856 5755 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
