MP LINDSAY Hoyle is calling on the Government to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Second World War D-Day landings.
The Labour MP for Chorley, who represents people in Adlington, has tabled a motion in the House of Commons.
As yet, the Government has not announced any plans to mark the anniversary, on June 6 next year.
Mr Hoyle said: "Thousands made the ultimate sacrifice on D-Day for the cause of freedom and it is only right that we recognise the significance of the Normandy landings on their 60th anniversary next year."
