CHORLEY manager Mark Molyneaux could face an LFA disciplinary hearing after getting sent from the dug-out during Tuesday's Marsden Trophy win at Morecambe.

Molyneaux was furious at three rough challenges from the home side and made his feelings clear to the referee.

"He sent me off from the dug-out," said Molyneaux. "But they were outrageous challenges. I just went to the stand and kept quiet.

"I don't know if he will report me but I am definitely going to write a report on him.

"He just didn't give them any protection. The player was at it behind his back and even their bench said they would have a word with him."

Other than Molyneaux's altercation with the ref, the night went well for the Magpies, who won 3-1. The Shrimps had a number of first-teamers on the sidelines.

"It wasn't a bad result. We did okay, hung in there in the first half when they had a bit of a go at us. It took us a while to get going."

Anthony Hogan, Paul Varley and Danny Mills all missed Tuesday's game with slight knocks but should be fit for tomorrow's visit of Guiseley.

Joe Murray could miss the game, though, after picking up an injury on Tuesday.

"They beat us at their place," said Molyneaux. "It was another one of our off days and that is our problem: we are too inconsistent.

"But another win will keep us in there. Any team in the top 10 can put a run together because anyone can beat anyone else."

Lee Wilkinson, coming back from injury, replaced Andy Mason in the starting line-up last weekend.

"He had a good 60 minutes," said Molyneaux. "He is a different type of player to Mason. You can ping the ball up to him and he can hold off four or five players. Mason's strength is you can give him the ball in front of goal and he will score.

"He worked hard on Tuesday against Morecambe and even did a few things he wasn't supposed to!"
