RADIO One DJ Sara Cox has drawn an extra 100,000 listeners to her breakfast show in the past three months -- but over the year she has lost a quarter of a million.
Meanwhile, her early morning rival, Terry Wogan, has seen a huge increase in his Radio 2 ratings. He has picked up an extra 600,000 listeners since January 2002, new figures show.
Wogan is now heard by 7.8 million people each week, according to a report published by Radio Joint Audience Research.
Bolton-born Sara Cox signed a £1 million three-year deal with Radio One in August last year. The former Canon Slade and Smithills School pupil took over the Breakfast Show from her best friend, Zoe Ball, three years ago. Radio chiefs believe her audience has stabilised after a big fall last summer.
