SADIE, the Home Secretary's new guide dog, made her debut in the House of Commons this week.
Sadie, who was trained at the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association's Bolton centre, replaced her half-sister Lucy who had been with David Blunkett for 10 years. She took her place at her master's side during Prime Minister's Questions and proved to be a charmer. After winning the affections of Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, it was reported that Sadie "rolled on her back and yawned a bit".

Lucy is now back in Bolton with handler Val Woolrich, enjoying her retirement.
