A FORMER chairman of Worsley Urban District Council has died at the age of 81.

She was chairman of the authority in 1966.

Within the Labour Party she was a member of the National Women's Committee and its delegate to the International Labour Organisation.

She married in 1959. Her husband, Norman, died some years ago. The funeral was due to take place at Peel Green Crematorium today.
