A MAN appeared in court after being charged with assaulting a landlord.
Daniel James Waring, aged 22, of Hind Street, Tonge Fold, was ordered to stand trial at Preston Crown Court when he appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with assaulting Mark Saunders, landlord of the Chetham pub, Chapeltown, and affray.
He was remanded on bail until March 28 for the preparation of committal papers with a condition of bail that he does not enter the village of Chapeltown.
