WHAT a wonderful non-letter from North-west Euro MP Gary Titley extolling the benefits of the European Single Market for French and German businesses.
I seem to remember a very recent news item telling us how the German economy is nearly at a standstill and unemployment is steadily on the increase in that country.
One item of good news from the European Parliament, however, there is now to be a ban on the sale and importing of all cosmetics tested on animals throughout the European Union. This is based on proposals from the Conservative group of MEPs, I should add. I wonder why Chris Davies didn't manage to mention this in his letter. I was under the impression that he and his Liberal colleagues would be all in favour of such a ban.
Perhaps, sir, we may now see one of the many letters from Europe sent to you by Conservative MEPs for the North-west, at least in the interests of proper balance.
