MAY I appeal to the residents around Dorset Street and Halstead Street who requested no parking seven days a week, 24 hours a day.

No parking all day is totally out of order, ludicrous, and nonsensical. As I was the original complainer (who leafleted the cars and residents some two to three years ago), it looks like the restrictions have back-fired on me and my family. Surely no parking 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, is sufficient?

The original problem around here was cars parked all day, sometimes 8am to 8pm. Shoppers were not a problem as they come and soon go. We should have no parking Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. The restrictions have only been implemented since before Christmas and the scheme has cost us already £130 -- that's in resident's permit £30, four books of daily parking permits at £10 each and two fines at £30 each. Some of our visitors at Christmas were hounded away by parking wardens, simply because we had run out of permits. We hope to see more of them next year. My two sons who called here recently going about their daily work were booked and fined £30 each -- and they live here! The wardens do not even give you time to go into your own house in order to get a parking permit. I think now it is all crazy.
