COMEDY legend Ken Dodd swapped his diddy men for dancing stars when he performed at Bolton's Albert Halls on Thursday.
The Knotty Ash funnyman -- famous for his tickling sticks -- had the audience rolling with laughter during his world-famous Happiness Show.
And the star gave five girls and a boy from the Bolton Dance and Performing Arts College a chance to shine on his stage.
They were overjoyed after being asked to do two dance routines for his show.
Ken said: "I've been in the entertainment business since 1954 and I've had a lot of help from a lot of people over the years.
"My ambition has always been to put something back into the business. And by Jove, I always try to give young entertainers a break whenever I can!"
Dancer Emma Stokes, aged 21, said: "It was amazing. We've performed in big shows before, but nothing like this. Ken's so professional, but he's such a funny man."
The college is the only further education establishment devoted to performing arts in Bolton.
It was set up by Chris Anderton and his wife Teresa 14 years ago and is now based on Fletcher Street, Great Lever.
Chris said: "It must have been a big moment for them, but they all rose to the occasion and they all did themselves proud."
The college can be contacted on 01942 887074.
