THE Castle Hill School Breakfast club -- which has boosted attendance figures -- is celebrating its second anniversary.
Between 30-40 children and about 10 parents now regularly come to school early for the club's 8am start.
At the club, cereal, tea, juice, coffee, toast and chocolate is served at a price of 10p per item.
After breakfast children can go and play games, read or finish off their homework.
Castle Hill Primary School deputy headteacher Mary Hyland said: "The main idea behind the club was to encourage punctuality and raise attendance -- which it has done."
A number of staff give up their free time voluntarily to run the school and the club has also improved relationships between parents and staff.
Mrs Hyland said: "Parents feel more able to come in and talk to staff and I think it has made children see staff in a different light.
"It has made school more friendly."
The school is celebrating the second anniversary by re-decorating its dining room.
