Austin Melia, aged 77, Tonge Moor Road, Bradshaw
Q: Do you think Britain should go to war with Iraq?
A: I feel it's somewhat necessary, but I've been involved in a war myself and I know it's not pleasant. But if you leave Saddam Hussein alone he's going to build an atomic bomb.
Q: Should we attack Iraq even without United Nations backing?
A: I'm not sure what to think about that, but obviously it would be better if there was a UN mandate.
Q: Do you believe Iraq is a real threat to Britain?
A: Yes. Saddam Hussein is a headbanger. You can't negotiate with someone like that.
Q: What do you think will be the impact here if war does break out?
A: I believe it will make the financial situation throughout the country a lot worse and it will be bad for the stock market.
Neil Roddie, aged 42, of Longden Street, Heaton
Q: Do you think Britain should go to war with Iraq?
A: It's either that or Saddam Hussein is going to kill his own people. We've got to stop him some way and it's the only way I can think of. He's a dictator and he's just laughing at the rest of the world.
Q: Should we attack Iraq even without United Nations backing?
A: They have to have UN backing, otherwise America and Britain will be disowned by the rest of the world.
Q: Do you believe Iraq is a real threat to Britain?
A: I'm not sure if he's a threat to Britain, but he's definitely a threat to the Middle East. If we allow him to have his way he's likely to attack somewhere like Israel and that would cause a big stir.
Q: What do you think will be the impact here if war does break out?
A: There'll be a lot of demonstrations. People will say that we're killing innocent Iraqis, but that's what Saddam Hussein has been doing.
Chris Leadbitter, aged 35, of Ascot Drive, Atherton
Q: Do you think Britain should go to war with Iraq?
A: I don't really think we should because of the double standards of Mr Blair and the Government. They are happy to expose us to danger, but they're protected by the SAS.
Q: Should we attack Iraq even without United Nations backing?
A: What's the point of having a UN if you are just going to override it. Everyone agrees to it and then refuses to take its ideas on board.
Q: Do you believe Iraq is a real threat to Britain?
A: Saddam Hussein needs sorting out but I don't think he's a real threat. Terrorism is more of a threat. We've had that in this country for more than 30 years.
Q: What do you think will be the impact here if war does break out?
A: The worst thing that will happen is that more people will go to the far right because of concerns about asylum seekers being potential terrorists.
Stephanie Wilson, aged 16, of Tonge Moor Road, Bolton
Q: Do you think Britain should go to war with Iraq?
A: I'm undecided really. There are so many arguments that I'm really not sure.
Q: Should we attack Iraq even without United Nations backing?
A: I don't think it matters that much. The end result will be the same.
Q: Do you believe that Iraq is a real threat to Britain?
A: Yes. I believe Saddam does have weapons of mass destruction.
Q: What do you think will be the impact here if war does break out?
A: I'm worried that by taking America's side we would become a target for the terrorists.
Lucy Hadfield, aged 18, of Harpers Lane, Heaton
Q: Do you think Britain should go to war with Iraq?
A: No. I think Tony Blair is just trying to please George Bush and not thinking about the whole situation enough.
Q: Should we attack Iraq even without United Nations backing?
A: I don't think we should go it alone, but I think Bush and Blair probably will. We are going to isolate ourselves internationally.
Q: Do you believe Iraq is a real threat to Britain?
A: I don't think Iraq is a real threat. How come we're not looking at other countries with weapons of mass destruction, such as North Korea?
Q: What do you think will be the impact here if war does break out?
A: I think a lot of people will turn against Tony Blair because he's not listening to public opinion.
Elizabeth Hurst, aged 18, Fifth Avenue, Heaton
Q: Do you think we should go to war with Iraq?
A: I think it's a really hard decision, but war should be an absolute last resort.
Q: Should we attack Iraq even without United Nations backing?
A: I don't think we should attack in the first place, definitely not without UN backing.
Q: Do you believe Iraq is a real threat to Britain?
A: I don't think they're a big threat. We're just being drawn into it because of Bush.
Q: What do you think will be the impact here if war does break out?
A: I think there will be many more demonstrations. I don't think there have been enough so far. There's not been much to bring it to our attention.
