RADCLIFFE Athletic Club took part in the Northern Cross-Country Championship at Heaton Park.
Rebecca Howard went in the U13s race, finding that there were no slouches as she finished 164th (in 15.31) after a good effort. Bury Schools champion Lindsay Agg made a slow start in the U17s race but moved through to 62nd in 22.14.
In the senior ladies race Jayne Platt led the way, 172nd in 37.51, with Glenda Garry (212th, 41.35) and Katherine Weir (223rd, 43.19) backing up gamely. 241 runners finished the race.
In the men's race Radcliffe's first finisherwas Adrian Harris in 250th. He completed the 12k course in 44.05, which is definitely a decent standard. The Radcliffe team were 63rd among the North of England's finest.
