REFERRING to F Hayman's recent letter.
What has his argument for speed humps got to do with reducing accidents? I understood this to be the purpose of them. So how many road accidents have there been in Sapling Road?
Reading Mr Hayman's letter, I get the impression he wants to use these dreadful things as a "big stick" to vehicles because they are a nuisance to him, not to prevent accidents.
Speed humps should be placed only where serious accidents have occurred, not where they might happen -- that could be everywhere!
I pay a fortune in motoring expenses, I also pay an extortionate amount of council tax. In return I expect a smooth, trouble-free car journey on unobstructed roads. Leave them alone.
