TWO men arrested after a student was robbed then stabbed repeatedly with a small knife have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
The 22-year-old man -- who has not been identified -- was attacked as he walked in Bromwich Street, The Haulgh, early yesterday.
He is believed to have made his own way to the Royal Bolton Hospital before staff alerted the police. Two men later arrested on suspicion of robbery and wounding were questioned throughout yesterday and bailed without charge last night.
Police today said the man's condition was not life-threatening.
Police teams hunting for clues combed the area around Chadwick Street and Bromwich Street throughout yesterday.
