THERE was confusion today over the future of former Sunderland defender Stanislav Varga after Wanderers yesterday denied any interest in a deal.
The Croatian, a Wanderers target before he joined Sunderland, is now out of contract and is training with Glasgow Celtic.
But the Slovakian's advisor Karl Chinto claims he is set to sign for Bolton instead.
Chinto insists the player was given permission to make the trip to Glasgow by Trotters boss Sam Allardyce.
Chinto is quoted as saying: "We asked Sam if it was okay for Stanislav to train with Celtic for a couple of days to prove his fitness and we have got the go-ahead.
"We have an agreement with Bolton, who have a board meeting on Wednesday, to rubber-stamp the deal. Celtic could offer him terms but, as things stand, I think he will be a Bolton player later this week."
