YOUNG people wanting information about jobs, training or health will now have even more access to advice thanks to five new outreach centres.
The Connexions service, which has replaced the old careers service, is visiting all of Bolton's secondary schools, but has now also launched outreach centres offering the same advice. Anyone aged between 13 and 19, or up to the age of 25 if they have a disability, can pop into the centres, which have been set up at the Gap in Halliwell Road, Farnworth youth centre, the youth workshop next to Bolton Central fire station, the Wellfield in Deane and a unit at 226-228 St Helen's Road.
Chatsworth House, Bold Street, is the main specialist careers advice point.
A Connexions shop offering an even broader service will also soon open in the town centre.
Cllr Laurie Williamson, Bolton Council's executive member for culture, said: "We want to make sure all our young residents can access Connexions as easily as possible.
"Connexions will work with young people on a one-to-one basis, opening up new opportunities to them, supporting them in what they want to do and with any concerns they may have."
