LOOKING after the greenery at Manchester Airport will now be a full-time job for two plant technicians.
The staff have been employed by Rentokil Tropical Plants to care for 1,000 plants at the airport's three terminals, including the mammoth task of cleaning 16 ornamental fig trees 20 feet high every three months.
Manchester Airport chairman, Cllr Brian Harrison, said: "Plants always make a place feel more welcoming and the huge variety of greenery around the airport brightens up the terminals. Hopefully our passengers enjoy it too and find it helps them relax before and after their flights."
